Actor-politician Kangana Ranaut has reacted strongly to the recently released Epstein Files, saying that reading through reports linked to disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein left her deeply unsettled. The documents, released by the United States Department of Justice, have triggered global shock, as they include thousands of pages of internal emails, flight records, handwritten notes and disputed material related to Epstein’s crimes.
While authorities have cautioned that some of the claims in the files may be “untrue and sensationalist,” the revelations have nevertheless sparked intense conversations worldwide. Kangana is the latest public figure to weigh in, sharing her thoughts via Instagram Stories on February 3.
What Kangana Said About the Epstein Files
Expressing her anguish, Kangana
wrote, “So disturbing to see and read about Epstein Files. Crimes happen everywhere but what they are indulging in seems as if it is some high society fashion/cultural practice, seems more like some evil/satanic monstrous religion.” She went on to question how influential figures allegedly named in the files could participate in such acts, adding, “All these rockstars, singers, movie stars, politicians, models, movie directors, we grew up reading about, how come all of them were ok harming and killing helpless young women and really really tiny kids.”
Her reaction echoed the disbelief and horror many have expressed online since the documents became public. Kangana’s remarks underline the disturbing contrast between the public personas of powerful figures and the allegations associated with them.
‘It Makes Me Deeply Sad’
Kangana further reflected on the emotional impact the revelations had on her worldview. She wrote, “It makes me deeply sad and hopelessly pessimistic about the future and the true essence of humanity.” The actor also linked the issue to cultural and philosophical beliefs, stating, “It makes me even more certain that Bharat’s culture, values and beyond the body what is ever lasting what is Sanatan is the answer that the world is seeking.”
Drawing parallels between mythology and modern society, she added, “All those ancient stories about demons/gods, sur/asur are relevant even today. Demons will prevail and gods will rise. Which side are you on? #harekrishna.”
On the professional front, Kangana was last seen in Emergency, where she portrayed former prime minister Indira Gandhi. The film, which Kangana also directed, wrote and produced, released in theatres on January 17, 2025.
