CJP NEET Protest At Jantar Mantar: Salman Khan Heartbroken Over Violence, Says 'My Heart Goes Out To Students'

Salman Khan has voiced his support for the students protesting over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, saying he is saddened that what began as a peaceful movement has turned violent. Sharing a heartfelt note on Instagram, the actor described the alleged paper leak as “a very serious issue” and said his “heart goes out to the students and their families” who have been affected. Salman also urged that the movement should remain focused on students and education, rather than politics.

Salman’s statement comes as thousands of students continue protesting at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar under the banner of the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), demanding accountability over the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak,

reforms to the examination system and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. While education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, who launched an indefinite hunger strike in solidarity with the students, was shifted to hospital by Delhi Police after his health deteriorated, CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke has since begun his own indefinite fast at the protest site, vowing to continue the movement until the students’ demands are met.

Salman Khan Says His ‘Heart Goes Out To The Students’

Sharing a long note on Instagram, Salman expressed grief over the violence reported during the protests and hoped the agitation would continue peacefully. “It was such a peaceful movement, feel so sad that it had to take a violent turn. My heart goes out to the students and their families who were hurt. Paper leak is a very serious issue,” he wrote.

The actor praised students for coming together to demand a stronger education system and called their determination inspiring.

‘It Should Not Be Hijacked Politically’

Salman Khan also made a strong appeal to keep politics out of the movement, saying the focus should remain on students. “This issue is between the students and the educational system, it should not be hijacked politically, the credit should only go to the students of our country,” he wrote.

Expressing confidence that the government would work towards improving the education system, Salman added that he was praying for a positive outcome and described it as a “win-win situation.”

Why Are Students Protesting?

The nationwide agitation was triggered after the alleged leak of the NEET-UG 2026 question paper forced authorities to cancel one of India’s biggest medical entrance examinations, affecting nearly two million aspirants. What began as outrage over the alleged paper leak soon evolved into a broader youth movement against repeated exam irregularities, transparency concerns and the immense pressure faced by students. Led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), protesters have been camping at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for weeks, demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation, accountability for those responsible, reforms to the examination system, compensation for families of students who died by suicide, and safeguards to prevent future paper leaks and evaluation lapses.

Bollywood And South Stars Backing The Students’ Protest At Jantar Mantar

Salman’s statement adds to the growing list of film personalities backing the student movement. In recent days, Thalapathy Vijay, Sonu Sood, Vir Das, Dia Mirza, Shabana Azmi, Prakash Raj, Riteish and Genelia Deshmukh, Soha Ali Khan, Aditi Rao Hydari, Huma Qureshi, Bhumi Pednekar, Rohit Saraf, Nandita Das, Naseeruddin Shah, Amol Parashar and filmmaker Kiran Rao have either expressed solidarity with the students or called for dialogue and reforms, while Tamil filmmaker Pa. Ranjith and singer Arivu have also extended their support.
