Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH)’s Abhishek Sharma, Heinrich Klaasen, and Ishan Kishan on Friday (May 22) became only the second trio of batters in IPL history to register 500+ runs in a season for the same team. It happened against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in IPL 2026.
Klaasen ended the RCB match with 606 runs, with Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma closely following him with 569 and 563 runs, respectively. The previous such troika was of the Gujarat Titans (GT) top-three of Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and Jos Buttler in the last season.

On a flat track, Abhishek scored 56 (22) to lay the foundation. Kishan and Klaasen then took over, also hitting
a half-century each, with scores of 79 (46) and 51 (24), respectively.
“Yeah, it was a lovely innings,” Klaasen said in the mid-innings break. “Struggled there in the first couple of balls, but that one over (27 runs off Hazlewood) just got me back on track. 5 from 12 is a little bit under pressure in this format. The team is going at 11-12 (runs/over), so I had to catch up very quickly. So it’s either get out or catch up with the rate. Yeah, I felt the wicket was a little bit slow, so I just struggled to find that timing, and I think I might have looked for too many up front, and then once I found my balance, it was a little bit easier. Obviously, it (Ishan Kishan’s form) will help very much if you dovetail in your partnership. I think we’ve done that incredibly well this season in the middle order,” he added.
In the chase, RCB only needed to avoid a defeat with a margin bigger than 90 runs to qualify in the top two of the points table. So, though they got off to a lightning-quick start with Venkatesh Iyer, the batters got circumspect and took the team to 200/4.
