Scrolling on the cellphone while driving is certainly dangerous. But does that stop people from succumbing to the temptation? Not quite. Until it is too late, some drivers just do not understand that even
a quick scroll can be life-threatening. One glance at your cellphone or simply pressing a button to change to your favourite song can have deadly consequences, sometimes even costing you your life or risking that of a pedestrian.
Along similar lines, a video has surfaced on X, sparking debate on distracted and negligent driving. The clip, supposedly recorded by a passenger, captured a bus driver manoeuvring the vehicle at a brisk speed while watching something simultaneously on his cellphone. The device was kept on the speedometer, near the steering wheel.
Bus Driver Watches Phone While Driving
As per the video, the Karnataka-operated bus was travelling at a speed of 80 km/h, that too at 2 am. The side note read, “One of the reasons for accidents.”

Internet Reacts To Driving Negligence
“Risking his own life along with the passengers”, criticised a user. “Aab samjha itna accident kuyn ho rahi hai (Now I understand why so many accidents are taking place)” noted another. “All the passengers are enjoying the journey, trusting the driver, but he is very careless,” pointed out an individual.
“We need mobile locks! When the bus is moving, it should be locked!” suggested a concerned user. “This, and most of the sleeper buses, have such doors to separate the cockpit and the passenger area. These doors are prone to getting stuck due to constant moisture and seldom maintenance. I can only imagine how difficult it is to open such doors in a situation of panic,” commented one person.
“Have you initiated action against the driver who is seen watching in the video a soap opera or a movie while driving the bus with passengers on board?” asked someone else. “Karnataka SRTC buses used to have a driver and a conductor for long-distance buses. But now, there is only one driver and very scary, especially at night. However, ultra-long-distance buses have both a driver and a conductor, and interchange midway through,” read a remark.
