Mumbai, Nov 3 (PTI) Industrial and logistics infrastructure development platform BuildSpace on Tuesday announced its plans to develop a 42-acre warehousing project in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra at an investment of Rs 265 crore.
The Sahakar Logistics Park is expected to become operational by March next year.
The park is designed to serve third-party logistics, e-commerce and quick-commerce occupiers, with flexible configurations suited to their warehousing and operational needs, the Navi Mumbai-based firm said.
The company said it has already achieved financial closure, with Sahakar Global Ltd infusing Rs 100 crore of equity and lenders keen to back the development.
The master plan of the project, which will offer 1.3 million sq ft of leasable area, comprises
five Grade-A+ buildings, with space configurations ranging from 30,000 sq ft to 700,000 sq ft to accommodate build-to-suit requirements.
Planned facilities include wide internal roads, optimised traffic circulation, dedicated parking with EV charging stations, centralised power and water supply, landscaped garden areas, and a modern park management office, BuildSpace said.
Bhiwandi’s strategic location offers several logistical advantages, including direct highway frontage and heavy-vehicle access to the Samruddhi Mahamarg and the Pune, Nashik and Agra corridors, facilitating freight movement across regional and national markets.
The exclusive mandate awarded by Sahakar Group, a diversified business group with interests in toll collection, sand mining and real estate, covers development management (EPC, marketing and leasing), it said.
“The facility’s location, building specifications and build-to-suit capacity will enable a wide range of occupiers to take space according to their requirements. For us, this is an important step in building scale in the MMR as we expand our industrial and logistics development platform across established and emerging markets,” Rohan Latad, Managing Director and CEO, BuildSpace said.
