Chandigarh, Jun 10 (PTI) The daughter of a Mohali-based bus operator has been selected for pre-commission training at the Indian Naval Academy (INA) in Kerala’s Ezhimala, according to an official release.
Diksha Sharma from the Punjab government’s Mai Bhago Armed Forces Preparatory Institute (AFPI) has been selected for the education branch and will be joining the Indian Naval Academy later this month, the release said.
Congratulating Sharma on the achievement, Punjab Employment Generation, Skill Development and Training Minister Aman Arora said the Mai Bhago AFPI is turning dreams into reality.
Cadet Sharma’s success will inspire more young girls from the state to explore opportunities in the defence services, he said.
