Chaibasa, Aug 9 (PTI) Two teens and a young woman, who went missing from different villages in Jharkhand’s West Singhbhum district, were found in UP, police said on Sunday.
The father of a 17-year-old girl had lodged a missing persons complaint at the Gua police station on August 1, they said.
Based on information gathered during the investigation, a police team from the district travelled to Meerut in UP and rescued the missing girl, besides two others from the district, they added.
The other two were a 21-year-old woman and a 16-year-old girl, police said.
The investigation revealed that all three had left their homes separately without informing their families, they said.
Asked whether the three were victims of human trafficking, police ruled
out the possibility, saying they had left home on their own in search of a livelihood.
The three were brought back on Saturday and reunited with their families. PTI BS SOM
