Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor may soon share screen space for the first time. According to a fresh report, Janhvi is in advanced talks to come on board as the female lead in Shahid Kapoor’s upcoming film, which will be directed by Amit Sharma, best known for Badhaai Ho. But an official confirmation is still awaited.
Pinkvilla has quoted a source saying, “Janhvi Kapoor is currently in advanced discussions to come on board as the female lead. If finalised, this will mark the first on-screen collaboration between Shahid and Janhvi…the story revolves around a fun and relatable relationship journey. It’s an out-and-out comedy, and Shahid is excited to revisit the genre after a while.” Janhvi Kapoor was seen in cameo role in Teri Baaton Mein Uljha
Jiya which starred Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon.
The portal also reported that the film is tentatively set to go on the floors in the later part of 2026, after Shahid wraps up shoot for Raj and DK’s Farzi 2. The makers are planning to take the film on floors in October 2026, with pre-production underway in full swing.

The actor will be next seen in Cocktail 2 along with Kriti Sanon and Rashmika Mandanna. It explores modern relationships amid emotional turmoil. The sequel features new characters facing current challenges while revisiting themes of love, friendship, and heartbreak.
The first installment of Cocktail was written by Imtiaz Ali and directed by Homi. It stars Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone and Diana Penty, in her acting debut. It was ranked as one of the highest-grossing Hindi films of 2012.
The film followed the story of Veronica, her boyfriend Gautam and friend Meera. It told the story of how Veronica welcomes Gautam and Meera into her home. Though they are happy for a while, their lives get complicated when Gautam falls in love with Meera.
Pinkvilla quoted Telugu Chitraalu report mentioning that Shahid Kapoor is also in talks with the makers of NTRNeel. Reportedly, he is being considered for the film after Tovino Thomas exited the project. But still, an official confirmation is awaited. The news has surfaced after Tovino Thomas quit the film. He confirmed that he is no longer associated with the upcoming Telugu film, widely referred to as Dragon.

She will be next seen in Peddi with Ram Charan. The film is all set to release on June 4. It was first scheduled to release on March 27, but it was then shifted to April 30.
