New Delhi, Jun 19 (PTI) Delhi Health Minister Pankaj Kumar Singh on Friday attended a review meeting chaired by Union Health Minister J P Nadda to assess the progress of the ‘TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ and maternal and child health programmes across states and Union territories, according to an official statement.
During the meeting, Delhi presented its progress under the TB-eradication campaign, including the screening of more than 16.4 lakh vulnerable individuals since December 2024, 7.4 lakh chest X-rays and 3.5 lakh nucleic acid amplification tests (NAATs), the statement said.
Delhi also highlighted that it had achieved TB preventive treatment coverage of 45 per cent, compared to the national average of 29 per cent, and upfront NAAT testing of 88
per cent against the national average of 83 per cent, it said.
According to the statement, Delhi organised 1,953 Ayushman Arogya camps under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan 2.0 between March 24 and June 15, including 486 in high-risk wards and 149 in congregate settings, screening over 3.19 lakh people.
The campaign resulted in more than 2.03 lakh chest X-rays, 70,070 NAAT tests and 26,761 TB patient notifications.
It further said 129 Ni-kshay Mitras distributed 16,096 food baskets to TB patients, while 203 MPs, MLAs and councillors participated in Jan Bhagidari activities during the campaign.
The Delhi government also highlighted the implementation of the Nikshay Poshan Yojana, under which more than Rs 36 crore has been disbursed to over 65,900 beneficiaries, according to the statement.
The review meeting focused on strengthening referral systems, expanding TB screening and preventive treatment coverage, streamlining patient support mechanisms and enhancing Centre-state collaboration to achieve national health targets. PTI SGV SGV ARB ARB
