The United States military has intercepted and destroyed two Iranian one-way attack drones that posed a threat to international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a statement released by US Central Command (CENTCOM).
In a post shared on social media on Sunday, CENTCOM said American forces operating in the Middle East successfully shot down the drones after they were assessed to be threatening commercial and international shipping routes in the strategically vital waterway.
“Earlier today, U.S. forces in the Middle East shot down two Iranian one-way attack drones that threatened international maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz,” CENTCOM said in its statement.

The military command added that U.S. forces remain on high alert and are prepared to respond to further threats in the region.

Pak Minister Visits Tehran
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Tehran on Saturday as Islamabad continues its diplomatic efforts to help ease escalating tensions between the United States and Iran, according to reports from regional media outlets.
The visit marks Naqvi’s third trip to Iran in recent weeks, highlighting Pakistan’s active role in encouraging dialogue and reducing friction between the two countries.
Upon landing in the Iranian capital, Naqvi was welcomed by Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni, state broadcaster Press TV reported.
During his stay, the Pakistani minister is expected to meet several senior Iranian officials, including Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, to discuss regional developments and avenues for diplomatic engagement, according to the Tasnim news agency.
