Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda may have entered Bollywood only this year, but the frenzy around their pairing has rivalled that of long-established stars. Their debut film Saiyaara sparked an instant cultural
moment — fan edits went viral overnight, gossip pages declared them the industry’s next “it” couple, and social media practically willed a romance into existence. The speculation gained further fuel when Karan Johar publicly hinted that the two newcomers might blossom into Bollywood’s most celebrated pairing in the coming years. But Ahaan Panday has now put all rumours to rest.
In a recent interview with GQ India, Ahaan addressed the relationship chatter directly. He made it clear that while the bond between him and Aneet is unusually deep, it is not romantic. “Aneet is my best friend. The whole internet thinks we’re together, but we’re not,” he said, shutting down months of speculation.
He explained that the comfort they share on-screen comes from emotional safety and mutual understanding rather than romance. “Chemistry isn’t always romantic — it’s about comfort, safety, and being seen. We’ve both made each other feel that,” he said. “Even though she’s not my girlfriend, I’ll never have a bond like I have with Aneet.”
The young actor also revealed that the two had a shared dream long before they became co-stars. They were both fond of the Paulo Coelho quote, “It’s the possibility of a dream coming true that makes life interesting,” which, according to Ahaan, became unexpectedly prophetic for their debut. “We dreamed this together, and it came true. What we’ve shared is so special,” he added.
Addressing his own relationship status, Ahaan stated clearly, “I’m single.” He also opened up about what he is like in a relationship, sharing that past partners have described his love language as “acts of service and grand gestures.”
Despite the clarification, many fans remain convinced that the duo’s on-screen spark must be rooted in real life. Their pairing in Saiyaara has been described as rare — emotionally vibrant, effortless, and strikingly intimate for debut performers. The natural synergy between them has become one of the film’s biggest talking points.
While fans may still ship the pair, Ahaan and Aneet have moved ahead professionally. Ahaan is now preparing for Ali Abbas Zafar’s upcoming YRF-backed action film opposite Sharvari. The project is expected to position him firmly among the most promising new actors in the industry.
Aneet Padda, meanwhile, is leading Shakti Shalini, the sixth film in Maddock Films’ expanding Horror Comedy Universe. Her performance is already generating early industry buzz.
Whether or not they ever become a couple in real life, one thing seems clear — Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda have formed one of the most compelling onscreen partnerships of the year. Fans will be hoping for a reunion, but for now, both stars are charting their own exciting paths in Bollywood.
