Actor and entrepreneur Parul Gulati has claimed that two employees at her Nish Hair store in Bengaluru allegedly duped her of more than ₹8 lakh by diverting customer payments into their personal bank accounts.
In an emotional Instagram video, Gulati said she spent an entire day at a police station after discovering what she explained as a months-long fraud involving the store manager and a sales executive.
The video, captioned with the words “Bangalore, you did me dirty,” details how the alleged scam came to light after Gulati conducted an unexpected visit to the Bengaluru store. According to her, she had been noticing inconsistencies in the business for some time but had been unable to identify the source of the problem.
“I was trying to figure
out what was going wrong because I knew there was a discrepancy,” Gulati said in the video, explaining that missing inventory and irregular financial records had raised suspicions.
She further alleged that the sales executive, who had access to the outlet’s CCTV cameras, called in sick on the very day she arrived for the surprise inspection, while the store manager reported for duty. During questioning, the manager allegedly admitted to orchestrating the fraud shortly after joining the company.
Recalling the conversation, Gulati said the manager confessed that he began the scheme after spending about a month learning how the business operated. “All he said was, ‘I started after one month of joining the job,'” she claimed.
How The Alleged Fraud Was Carried Out
According to Gulati, the two employees allegedly sold Nish Hair products worth between ₹15,000 and ₹20,000 daily but instructed customers to transfer payments directly into their personal bank accounts instead of the company’s official account.
“They sold my product, my packaging, through my name to the customer and then took the whole amount themselves. Toh unhone mujhse bhi churaya hai, aur customers se bhi,” she said.
Gulati alleged that the fraudulent activity continued for nearly six months, resulting in significant financial losses and inventory mismatches. In the caption accompanying her Instagram post, she said she currently possesses evidence covering six months of the alleged scam but fears the fraud may have started even earlier.
“I got scammed, and I have proof of only 6 months. I don’t know what to do, but all I can do is request that these two never get hired,” she wrote.
She further claimed that the store manager admitted to misappropriating around ₹8 lakh.
“The guy has told me himself, ‘I didn’t do more than 8L,’ and the girl is still on the run,” Gulati alleged.
Expressing little hope of recovering the money, she added, “I highly doubt if I will ever recover my money, but these two did me dirty, and they deserve to never get work anywhere.”
The actor also issued a warning to customers who had shopped at the Bengaluru outlet. She urged anyone who had transferred money directly to the employees instead of the company’s official account to verify their transactions, suggesting that customers, too, may have been victims of the alleged fraud. She advised buyers to always insist on an official bill and carefully check payment details before making purchases.
Visibly upset over the incident, Gulati said she hopes the accused are held accountable for their actions. “Yeh chor hain, yeh jahan jaayenge wahan chori karenge. Inme koi imaan nahi hai. Yeh ghatiya log hain, ghatiya,” she said.
Gulati’s post quickly gained attention online, with several users expressing sympathy and sharing similar experiences.
