GGSIPU Admission 2026-27: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has released the admission brochure for undergraduate (UG) courses for the academic session 2026-27. The brochure provides complete information about the admission process, entrance exams, eligibility criteria, and new courses. This document is essential for students aspiring to study at GGSIPU this year, as some new prerequisites have been introduced.
The online registration for GGSIPU will start on February 2, 2026, and will continue until March 31, 2026. Interested candidates must apply by visiting the university’s official website – ipu.ac.in. An application-cum-counseling fee of Rs 2,500 is required. Applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted.
This year, the university mandates that all students have an Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) and APAAR ID. Without these IDs, the admission process cannot be completed, in compliance with the new UGC guidelines.
Number of Seats and Colleges
This year, there are more than 43,000 seats available across over 130 colleges and university schools affiliated with GGSIPU. The university offers admission to undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral (PhD) programmes.
Following UGC regulations, GGSIPU has reserved 25% supernumerary seats for international students. A separate admission brochure for these seats will be published by the Office of the Director, International Affairs.
GGSIPU CET 2026 Date
The university’s Common Entrance Test (GGSIPU CET 2026) will be held between April 25 and May 17, 2026. After the entrance exam results are announced, the counseling process is expected to begin in June 2026 and typically lasts until July 31, 2026.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility conditions for each course are specified in the brochure. For example, for the MBBS course, candidates must pass NEET UG 2026. Additionally:
– Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English must be compulsory subjects in 12th grade.
– General category candidates need 50% marks, while SC/ST/OBC candidates need 40%.
– Candidates must be at least 17 years old by December 31, 2026.
– The MBBS course duration is 5.2 years.
Age Limit
– The maximum age for most UG courses (except MBBS) is 21 years.
– Certain courses have an age limit up to 25 years.
– The maximum age limit for PG courses is 35 years.

Candidates seeking admission through the management quota must pass a national-level test, such as GGSIPU CET, CUET, or another recognized entrance exam. Admission to LLB (CLAT UG) and LLM (CLAT PG) is based on CLAT merit. Candidates who do not consent to data sharing on the CLAT portal will be excluded from the admission process.
