Bank Holiday Today: Banks across several parts of India are closed today, April 3, 2026, on account of Good Friday, which marks the crucifixion of Jesus Christ and is observed with prayer, fasting, and reflection by the Christian community.
Bank branches are shut in multiple cities and states including Agartala, Ahmedabad, Aizawl, Belapur, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chennai, Dehradun, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Itanagar, Kanpur, Kochi, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shillong, Shimla and Vijayawada, as per the RBI holiday calendar, while a few locations may remain operational depending on regional observance.
Customers should note that although physical bank branches are closed in many regions, digital
services such as UPI, mobile banking, internet banking and ATMs will continue to function normally, allowing uninterrupted access to essential banking services.

Apart from festival-based holidays, all scheduled and non-scheduled banks will also remain closed on the second and fourth Saturdays, along with Sundays.
