Australian wicketkeeper-batter Josh Inglis registered his name in Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) history on Sunday (May 10). While batting against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Chepauk, he scored 77 runs off just 25 balls in the first six overs — the most for LSG in their four-year-long history.
He broke the record of his opening partner, Mitchell Marsh, who scored 60 runs in the first six overs only recently, against the Mumbai Indians on April 4. Overall, Head now has the fourth-most runs in an IPL powerplay, behind only Suresh Raina (87), Travis Head (84), and Jake Fraser-McGurk (78).

Inglis showed this masterclass of an innings in only his second match for LSG. The right-hander smacked
bowlers all around the park, but he was particularly brilliant behind the stumps, relentlessly lapping both pacers and spinners over the wicketkeeper.
He played one too many of those cute shots, though, getting out trying to lap Jamie Overton in the 10th over. His innings ended at 85 (33).
Why didn’t Josh Inglis start the IPL 2026 season for LSG?
Josh Inglis was not initially scheduled to play IPL 2026 for LSG due to a planned wedding in April 2026. He had reportedly informed all franchises before the auction that he’d only be available for the latter part of the season, starting May 4, due to his extended wedding celebrations.
After arriving, a hand injury kept him out of the RCB match on May 7.
