The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Saturday (May 2) announced India’s squad for the upcoming 2026 edition of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup. In the 15-member team picked for the 12-team tournament which will be played from June 12 to July 5 in England, as many as 11 players from India’s 2024 T20 World Cup squad have managed to retain their place. Harmanpreet Kaur will captain the 2025 ODI World Cup winners, and star opening batter Smriti Mandhana will be her deputy.
Richa Ghosh and Yastika Bhatia are the two wicketkeeper-batters in India’s squad, and the other members include the likes of Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, Renuka Thakur, Arundhati Reddy, Shafali Verma and Radha Yadav, among others.
Four players will make their T20
World Cup debut for India in 2026, and of those four players, one is yet to make her India debut even.
Here’s a look at the full list of changes in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad from the team picked for the 2024 edition:
OUT: Dayalan Hemalatha, Sajeevan Sajana, Asha Sobhana and Pooja Vastrakar are four players who were part of India’s T20 World Cup squad in 2024 but will not play in this year’s tournament. They were not part of India’s squad for the recently concluded five-match T20I series against South Africa as well.
IN: Spinner Shree Charani, fast bowlers Nandani Sharma and Kranti Gaud, and middle-order batter Bharti Fulmali are the new faces in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad. All four of them will make their T20 World Cup debut in 2026.
Charani and Kranti were part of India’s ODI World Cup squad in 2025 and played a big role in the Women in Blue’s title win. They would like to come up with big performances in England as well to help India lift the Women’s T20 World Cup title.
Nandani, on the other hand, is yet to make her T20I debut. She is the only uncapped player in India’s T20 World Cup 2026 squad. The 24-year-old fast bowler from Chandigarh was one of the best performers in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026.

India last played a T20I series in April 2026 against South Africa. As many as 12 players that featured in that away series are picked up for the T20 World Cup 2026. The three players that missed out on the selection are wicketkeeper Uma Chetry, all-rounder Kashvee Gautam and batter Anushka Sharma. They have been replaced by Yastika Bhatia, Radha Yadav and Nandani Sharma.
