Dayanand Shetty, popularly known as Daya from CID, recently, in an interview, spoke about the surprising atmosphere on a popular comedy show. While he didn’t name any show, his reaction convinced fans that he was talking about none other than the longest-running TV sitcom, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
Without naming any show, Daya shared, “Aur ek show hai jisko main mention nahi karunga, bhot hi popular comedy show hai.” He added, “To hamlog kya expect karte hain ki comedy show hai to inka sense of humour jabardast hoga. Ye jo actors hain, wo hamesha comedy karte honge.”

Recalling his experience, Shetty further claimed that he expected a totally different environment on the set and added, “Hamlog unke sath kaam kar rahe hain, aur jaise comedy ka wo log jo bhi karte the khatam hua, sab serious face,” and continued, “Na ek dusre ko dekh rahe hain. Na baat kar rahe hain. Wo apne kamre mein gaya, ye apne kamre mein gaya. Jab ki kar rahe hain comedy.”
CID and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah had quite a few collaborative episodes where the teams of the two shows worked together, and this led fans to believe that the ace actor was talking about no other show but Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah.
Daya further shared how, while it was a rather sad environment on the sets of the comedy show, the BTS stories from CID’s set were entirely different. He revealed that despite CID being a crime drama, the cast would continue laughing and joking. “Yaha (CID) murdon ke sath baat karne wale, koi mauka nahi chor rahe (to laugh),” he said.
