At the Jaipur edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, designer Namrata Joshipura didn’t just present a collection – she engineered a mood. Set against a runway transformed into a high-speed circuit,
her latest collection unfolded as couture in motion: sleek, charged, and unapologetically futuristic. Drawing from the visual language of motorsport, she translated velocity into form through sculpted silhouettes, chrome-inflected detailing, and a palette that shimmered with noir metallics and electric accents.
Known for her sharp, contemporary design vocabulary, Namrata Joshipura presented Nitro Noir in Jaipur. Speaking to News18, the designer unpacks the inspiration, craftsmanship, and personal impulses behind a collection built for speed – and for the future.

1. What was the seed moment or visual that first sparked this high-octane collection idea for you?
The idea took shape when the theme was shared as a baseline, much like Futureverse for the Gurugram show. As someone who loves speed and motorsports, and being a runner myself, it instantly resonated. From there, I envisioned a collection that captured the spirit of the racetrack as a full sensory experience, with music, graphics, hair and makeup, silhouettes, and accessories all working together to convey that high-octane energy.
2. The collection plays with the language of velocity. How do you translate something as intangible as ‘speed’ into couture construction?
For me, speed is expressed through movement, precision, and energy. That translated into sleek, aerodynamic silhouettes, fabrics and textures that suggest motion, and embellishments inspired by motorsport – grids, velocity lines, and chrome details. Every element, from cuts and drapes to finishes and accessories, is designed to evoke the pulse and momentum of the racetrack while remaining elegant and couture-driven.
3. Your silhouettes this season feel assertive – bodycon, power shoulders, jumpsuits. What kind of woman did you envision inhabiting this ‘engineered to thrill’ universe?
She is confident, bold, and unapologetically herself—someone who embodies strength, elegance, and a love for contemporary fashion. Nitro Noir is a collision of speed and style, a modern couture edit with unexpected materials, embellishments, and silhouettes. It isn’t limited to a specific type; it’s for any woman drawn to daring, futuristic glamour.
4. You’ve always been known for a strong, futuristic design identity. What part of your own personality shows up most clearly in Nitro Noir?
My love for speed, precision, and bold expression comes through most clearly. I’ve always gravitated towards sleek silhouettes and unexpected detailing, and this collection reflects my fascination with movement, energy, and pushing creative boundaries, while staying rooted in elegance and couture craftsmanship.
5. Couture increasingly leans into performance and drama. How does Nitro Noir fit into your larger design language and the future direction of your brand?
I’ve always championed contemporary fashion over traditional narratives, and this collection continues that ethos. From textures and embellishments to silhouettes like jumpsuits, corsets, and draped skirts, it stays true to the brand’s language. These pieces will be available in our stores, and future collections will build on this, making it a natural continuation of the brand’s DNA.

6. Futuristic glamour is having a moment globally. What uniquely Indian element or sensibility did you integrate into this high-voltage narrative?
While the collection embraces a motorsport-inspired, high-octane aesthetic, all the embellishments are crafted using traditional Indian artisanal hand techniques. The fabrics, motifs, and silhouettes are elevated through meticulous handwork. It’s not overtly Indian in style, but the craftsmanship and sensibility are deeply rooted in India’s artisanal heritage, adding a handcrafted depth to the narrative.
7. This edition of the Blenders Pride Fashion Tour celebrates bold, new expressions of fashion. How does showcasing Nitro Noir in Jaipur enhance or reinterpret the collection’s narrative?
Presenting Nitro Noir in Jaipur adds a compelling contrast. The city’s rich heritage and craftsmanship form a vibrant backdrop for the collection’s high-octane, contemporary couture. While the designs remain modern and motorsport-driven, showcasing them in Jaipur highlights the interplay of precision, glamour, and heritage, making the narrative richer and more multidimensional.
