Recently, actress Eva Grover, spoke about her marriage to Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan’s half-brother, Hyder Ali Khan. She called it the darkest chapter of her life accusing him of forcing her to sleep with directors as well as physically assaulting her. Who is Hyder Ali Khan?

Aamir Khan’s late father, filmmaker Tahir Hussain, was first married to Zeenat Hussain, with whom he had Aamir Khan and his siblings. He later married Shahnaz, who already had a son, Hyder Ali Khan, from her first marriage. As a result, Hyder became Aamir Khan’s stepbrother, though

the two are not biologically related. Tahir Hussain later reconciled with his first wife, Zeenat.

Before pursuing acting, Hyder worked as a cabin crew member and later appeared in films such as Dil Toh Deewana Hai and Trump Card.

Hyder Forced Eva Grover To Sleep With Directors

In a recent chat with Siddharth Kannan, Eva was asked if Hyder wanted her to get “physically intimate” with others. The actress said, “Unhone aisi baat rakhi thi, bohot pressure daala tha mujhpe.”

In the interview, Eva said, “Kaam toh mere paas hamesha tha. Lekin jo phase jisme maine kaam chod diya tha, mere saare FDs (fixed deposits) break kar diye the maine, gaadiyan bech di thi uss family ke liye, sab kar liya tha jab maine second time inko sambhaala tha. Toh unki taraf se yeh proposition aayi thi.”

(“I always had work. But during the phase when I had stopped working, I broke all my fixed deposits, sold my cars for that family, and did everything when I stood by them for the second time. That’s when this proposition came from their side.”)

She continued, “Kya farak padta hai? Kyuki humko propositions aati thi na, actresses ko toh aati hi hain. Badi badi propositions aati hain, proposals aate hain. Mere apne ex-husband ne kaha tha, ‘Kya farak padta hai? Karo. Karna padega. Aapko ghar chalana hai, humara electric bill itna ho gaya hai… bachche ke liye paisa chahiye.’ That was the end of everything. Uske baad maine kabhi mud ke nahi dekha.”

(“What’s the big deal? We actresses receive such propositions all the time. We get big offers and proposals. My own ex-husband told me, ‘What’s the big deal? Do it. You’ll have to do it. We need to run the household. Our electricity bill has become so high… we need money for the child.’ That was the end of everything for me. After that, I never looked back.”)

The actress revealed that Hyder has schizophrenia, but she didn’t understand his condition when they got married as she barely knew him. She revealed that her marriage quickly turned violent, and that her family would be concerned for her after seeing bruises on her body.

Hyder Is In Bad Condition, Struggling For Food

Eva further shared, “Today, Hyder is not in a good condition. He has no house and struggles even for food. Sometimes someone lets him stay in a chawl, sometimes a friend helps him. I feel sad. Whatever happened, happened, but from a humanitarian point of view, he was once my husband.”

Talking about how he is surrounded by bad company and that there is no one to take care of him, Eva shared, “He is surrounded by people who keep giving him alcohol. There is no one to look after him. I only pray that whenever his time comes, he finds peace. He has suffered a lot.”

Talking about her turbulent married life, Eva revealed she was unaware of Hyder’s schizophrenia and said, “On the third day of our marriage, I witnessed the first streak of violence. He had schizophrenia, but back then I didn’t really understand what schizophrenia meant. I barely knew Hyder. In the 18 days before our wedding, I had only seen his chivalrous side. But on the third day of our marriage, he started hitting me during our intimate moment. At that time, I couldn’t understand why it was happening.”

Sharing that she tried to save her marriage, Eva Grover continued, “There was a lot of violence in my marriage. I tried very hard to save it. I even thought having a child would make everything better, but instead, things only became worse. As soon as my daughter was born, divorce proceedings were initiated, and I was sent back to my mother’s house.”

“My uncle, members of my shooting unit, and everyone around me convinced my mother that I was in a terrible condition. I had bruises all over my body. They said I wouldn’t survive if I stayed there. Eventually, I got divorced,” she added.
