The brace helped Mbappé extend his tally to 58 goals in men’s international football for France, making him the country’s all-time leading goalscorer.
Former striker Olivier Giroud is now second on the list. Giroud played 137 matches for France from 2011 to 2024 and scored 57 goals. Meanwhile, the match against Senegal is Mbappé’s 98th appearance for Les Bleus.
