Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim opened up on the changes the top job at the club has brought about in him ahead of the side’s Premier League fixture against Brighton.
Amorim revealed he does not feel
nervous about being removed from the position as much as he frets not winning games in a statement of confidence.
“I always lead a simple life, but the position of United manager has changed my life,” he said.
“When in my office at Old Trafford, I see 23 photos of managers, I know how important my position is, the honor it represents, and I want to succeed,” the Portuguese gaffer added.
“I don’t want to leave without having won; that’s very important to me.”
“I have no fear of losing my job. My greatest fear is not winning matches because I suffer when I don’t win,” he said.
“I’m going to do what is the best for the club.”
Amorim also opened up about the side’s new first choice keeper Senne Lammens, who has been scintillating since making his debut for the club following his arrival during the latest transfer window.
“Senne Lammens has been great. His impact surprised me a little bit, because it is hard in the moment of our club and all of the speculation around our goalkeepers… he has coped really well with the pressure”. “He is really composed”.
Amorim had hit back at Liverpool boss Arne Slot’s claim of the United boss tinkering with his usual lineup ahead of their 2-1 win at Anfield.
“I don’t care what Arne Slot is saying. Sometimes you need to adapt to the game. I don’t need anyone to evaluate my team. I can evaluate my team.”
