In the coveted list of India-origin CEOs helming top US tech giants such as Google, Microsoft and more, the name of Sanjay Mehrotra often gets sidelined or ignored. Not many are aware that what Mehrotra is doing in the age of AI is a matter of pride for Indians.

Mehrotra is the chairman, CEO and President of Micron Technology, the company that is the hot pick among investors when the demand for advanced chips has grown substantially.

Micron Technology is the semiconductor company that designs and manufactures advanced memory and data storage solutions, including DRAM, NAND and High Bandwidth Memory (HBM).

Who Is Sanjay Mehrotra?

Sanjay Mehrotra is Chairman, President and CEO at Micron Technology.

Sanjay joined Micron in 2017 after a distinguished career at SanDisk Corp. where he led the company from start-up in 1988 until its sale in 2016. In addition to being a SanDisk co-founder, Sanjay served as its president and CEO from 2011 to 2016, overseeing its growth to an industry-leading Fortune 500 company.

Note that SanDisk is another semiconductor company whose shares have grown exponentially in recent times, giving investors a whopping 4,019 per cent return in 1 year.

Sanjay earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California, Berkeley and is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program (SEP).

He had done his engineering education from BITS Pilani.
