‘This Number Is Fake’: Rukmini Vasanth Cautions Fans Against Fraudster Pretending To Be Her

Actor Rukmini Vasanth has issued a public warning about an individual impersonating her and contacting people under false pretences. The Kantara Chapter 1 star shared the alert on X (formerly Twitter),

where she also tagged the Bengaluru City Police while urging the public to stay cautious.

Posting the phone number being used by the impersonator, Rukmini wrote, “Important Alert & Awareness Message. It has come to my attention that an individual using the number 9445893273 is impersonating me and reaching out to various people under false pretenses.”

The actor clarified that she has no connection to the number in question and warned people not to engage with the fraudulent messages or calls. “I want to clarify that this number does not belong to me, and any messages or calls from it are completely fake. Please do not respond or engage with such messages. This act of impersonation falls under cybercrime and appropriate action is being taken against those involved in such fraudulent and misleading activities,” she said.

In her post, Rukmini encouraged anyone who needs to contact her to reach out through official channels or her verified team accounts. Responding to her message, the Bengaluru City Police reiterated her warning and advised the public to remain vigilant. “These are fraudsters calls, message, Please dont share any information to them. Request you to report the matter at your nearest police station for necessary action. (sic),” the police department wrote in reply.

Rukmini, who has recently emerged as one of Kannada cinema’s most sought-after talents, had a busy year in 2025. She appeared in the Tamil films Ace and Madharaasi and starred in the Kannada blockbuster Kantara Chapter 1, now the highest-grossing film in the language.
