Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Makes History As First Bollywood Film To Cross Rs 800 Cr At The Indian Box Office

One month after its theatrical release, the Ranveer Singh-led spy thriller has done what no Hindi film has managed before. It has crossed Rs 800 crore at the Indian box office, setting a new benchmark for Bollywood. Released on December 5, Aditya Dhar’s ambitious spy film has shown rare staying power. Instead of slowing down after the initial rush, Dhurandhar kept pulling audiences into theatres week after week, turning strong word-of-mouth into historic numbers. shows how steady its run has been. The film made Rs 218 crore in its first week and Rs 261.5 crore in the second. It then earned Rs 188.3 crore in week three and Rs 115.70 crore in week four. Over the latest weekend, it collected Rs 9.70 crore on Saturday and Rs 12.60 crore on Sunday. With this, Dhurandhar has become the first Hindi film to cross Rs 800 crore in India. Its worldwide total now stands at Rs 1186.25 crore. Reacting to the feat, the production house wrote, “Dhurandhar routine: Wake up. Make Records. Repeat. A NEW ALL-TIME RECORD FOR HINDI CINEMA!” How it compares to other big films Before this, no Bollywood film had reached this number in India. The only other Indian film to cross Rs 800 crore domestically is Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar and starring Allu Arjun. It earned Rs 1234.1 crore net in India, including Rs 812.14 crore from its Hindi version. In comparison, Shah Rukh Khan’s Jawan collected Rs 640 crore in India, while Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava ended its run at around Rs 600 crore domestically.
