Rohit Sharma trained for nearly two hours on Friday at Shivaji Park with his former Mumbai teammate Abhishek Nayar, preparing for the upcoming tour of Australia.

fans were in attandence to watch the former India captain. Rohit showcased his signature pull and cut shots with impeccable timing against the pace. He was also seen executing aggressive inside-out drives during his practice session at Shivaji Park. Rohit didn’t stop there; he also practiced against spinners, focusing on sweeps and slog sweeps.

During his training at the All Heart Cricket Academy, Mumbai cricketer Angkrish Raghuvanshi and a few other local players were present as Rohit participated in two batting nets sessions.

The 38-year-old Rohit last played for India in the Champions Trophy final against New Zealand in February this year, leading the team to their second consecutive ICC title after the T20 World Cup win in the Americas in 2024.

Recently replaced by Shubman Gill as India’s ODI captain, Rohit will return to action in a three-match series against Australia, starting October 19 in Perth.

With his future under constant scrutiny, Rohit has been named in the squad for the Australia ODI series alongside longtime colleague Virat Kohli. Both batting greats retired from Tests and ODIs over the past year.

Rohit, Kohli, and the newly-appointed ODI vice-captain Shreyas Iyer will join the Indian team, currently playing against the West Indies in the second Test in New Delhi, before departing for Australia in two separate batches on October 15.
