Shah Rukh Khan turned 61 on Monday, November 2, and birthday wishes poured in from across the film industry. Among the more personal messages came from Juhi Chawla, his longtime friend, frequent co-star and business partner, who dipped into their shared history for her birthday post.
Juhi posted a carousel of photographs spanning different phases of their association, including an old film still and more recent pictures with Shah Rukh. She also chose I Am The Best, from their 2000 film Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, as the music accompanying the post.
“Happpyyy Birthhddaaayy ShahRukh …!! @iamsrk,” Juhi began, before describing the many roles he has occupied in her life over the years.
Juhi Chawla Calls Shah Rukh Khan ‘Generous And Humble’
“Friend,
co-star, business partner and someone with whom I have laughed, celebrated and shared so many memories over the years…!!” Juhi wrote.
She then drew a distinction between Shah Rukh’s public stature and the person she has known away from the screen.
“The King for the world, but for those who know you, still one of the most generous and humble people around..!!”
Juhi signed off the post on behalf of her family, adding, “Lots and lots of love from all of us, always.. Jay, Juhi, Jahnavi, Arjun.”
The photographs mirrored that long association. One showed the two together in recent years, while another revisited their younger screen avatars. A third image was from Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, a film that remains closely tied to their professional partnership.
Shah Rukh Khan And Juhi Chawla’s Long Association
Shah Rukh and Juhi were among Hindi cinema’s familiar on-screen pairings through the 1990s and early 2000s. Their collaborations include Darr, Ram Jaane, Yes Boss and Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, among other films.
Their association eventually moved beyond acting. The two were involved in the production banner Dreamz Unlimited and later became business partners through IPL franchise Kolkata Knight Riders. Juhi has previously spoken about working with Shah Rukh and her husband Jay Mehta on KKR, recalling the early meetings where the team’s identity, branding and other details were being put together.
That history explains why Juhi’s birthday note moved easily between “friend”, “co-star” and “business partner” without treating them as separate chapters.
Shah Rukh Khan Turns 61
Shah Rukh’s birthday celebrations this year have also coincided with fresh promotional activity around his upcoming film King. The first song from the film was released on November 2, featuring Shah Rukh alongside Deepika Padukone.
Fans also gathered around Mannat as they traditionally do on his birthday, while the actor thanked them through a handwritten message amid ongoing work at his Bandra residence.
Juhi, meanwhile, kept her wish rooted in the years they have spent working, celebrating and building things together.
“The King for the world,” she wrote, “but for those who know you,” still Shah Rukh.
