Ayushmann Khurrana Clarifies Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Doesn’t ‘Promote Infidelity’ Amid Growing Chatter

Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi starrer Pati Patni Aur Woh Do’s trailer was released at a grand event. Following the release of the trailer, Ayushmann spoke about the chatter around the movie promoting infidelity.

At the event,Ayushmann Khurrana spoke about director Mudassar Aziz’s way of presenting comedy, saying, “The way Mudassar has woven this classic, iconic story is brilliant. It’s not a typical rom-com; there’s more comedy in the film.”

He then addressed the question about the movie endorsing infidelity directly and said, “We are not promoting infidelity because it’s a family film. Everyone will enjoy watching this film; it’s a comedy of errors.” He further emphasised that the movie intends to entertain

the audience with chaotic confusion and situational humour instead of making a comment on any relationship.

Being a family man, Ayushmann himself believes in doing films that his kids can watch and shared that he took them to the edit suite during post-production and revealed, “They loved it. When kids love it, then it becomes a wholesome family film, and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is one such film.”

The trailer begins with Ayushmann Khurrana’s entry as Prajapati Pandey, a simple forest officer who lands in the midst of complete chaos as his one attempt to help a female friend lands him in complete trouble with not one, not two, but three women, played by Sara Ali Khan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Rakul Preet Singh. As the confusion snowballs into an all-out comedy of errors, Vijay Raaz enters as a cop, dialling up the chaos even further.

The comedy-drama, starring Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi, is the highly anticipated sequel to the 2019 film Pati Patni Aur Woh. Last year, the makers revealed that the film would release in theatres on March 4, 2026, during Holi. However, the film’s release has now been postponed. The makers have announced a new release date, sharing that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do will now hit theatres on May 15, 2026.
