Rishabh Shetty Shares BTS Photos From Kantara Chapter 1 First Workshop: ‘This Was The Moment’

Rishabh Shetty has set the internet abuzz once again after sharing behind-the-scenes photos from the very first workshop of Kantara Chapter 1. The much-awaited prequel to the 2022 blockbuster Kantara ruled

the box office, and the newly released images offer fans their first emotional glimpse into the journey of bringing the film to life.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Rishabh Shetty shared a series of photos and wrote, “This was the moment I passed on the soul of our story — when the character born on paper found life through my actors. Our first workshop wasn’t just rehearsal; it was the beginning of breathing emotion into imagination. My love towards all my actors of kantara tribe.” Fans too reacted. One of the fans wrote, “Rishabh sir kantara chapter 2 kab aaiga.” Another wrote, “Next Movie Kab aayega Sir.”

Kantara Chapter 1: Box Office Performance

The magnum opus project collected a whopping Rs 337.4 crore in its first week, while the second week collection was Rs 147.85 crore, across all languages in India.

More About Kantara Chapter 1

Helmed by Shetty himself, and backed by Hombale Films, the film also features Gulshan Devaiah, Jayaram and Rukmini Vasanth in significant roles.

It follows the story of a tribal warrior named Berme in 4th-century coastal Karnataka, who defends his people and their sacred forest against the encroaching Kadamba kingdom led by Prince Kulashekara. The film is a prequel to the original Kantara and explores the origins of the divine spirits, the Daivas Guliga and Panjurli, central to the region’s spiritual lore.

Kantara Chapter 1 OTT Release

The usual gap between theatrical and OTT release is six to eight weeks, and the digital release date for Kantara Chapter 1 is said to be October 30. This window is shorter, and given its great success at the box office, the OTT release date may even be moved back so that it has more time to perform in theatres.
