Teachers’ Day celebrations at JB Institute of Technology (JBIT) in Dehradun have sparked an unexpected debate online after a video of four students dancing to “Ooh La La” from ‘The Dirty Picture’ went viral on X. The performance, which saw the audience cheering and whistling, has divided the internet over whether the song was appropriate for the occasion.
The performance took place during the college’s Academic Excellence Award ceremony organised on September 5, as part of the Teachers’ Day celebrations, with a poster of Dr Radhakrishnan visible in the background.

An X user who goes by the name @TheSkinDoctor shared the video, writing in the caption, “Picture this: College management tasks teachers
with organising a cultural event honouring Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. The teachers, in turn, tasked the students. Students came up with the idea to dance to ‘Ooh La La, Ooh La La, Tu Hai Meri Fantasy,’ and the teachers didn’t feel the song was inappropriate for the occasion, so they approved it.”
The individual added, “I’m sure the teachers got program approval from the management as well, and they too didn’t find this odd. There must have been days of rehearsals, yet no one from the students to the teachers to the management, thought it was absurd.”
