India’s favourite cooking reality show is back with a brand-new flavour and a whole lot of excitement. Yes, we are talking about MasterChef India, one of the country’s longest-running reality shows. Set

for an exciting comeback, the show is known for its mouth-watering dishes, intense challenges and heartwarming journeys that has always kept fans hooked. But this time, there is a twist and the Internet is clearly abuzz.

The makers recently dropped a thrilling promo for the upcoming season, where they revealed a never-before-seen format. In the new season, contestants will now compete in pairs! This time, it is not about individual chefs but about teams of two who will bring their combined creativity and skills to the MasterChef kitchen.

MasterChef India: Jodi Edition
A note attached to the promo read, “MasterChef ke brand new season mein contestants ayenge jodiyon mein! Jinke haathon mein hoga 100 percent desi swaad, jit wahi hoga jo hoga haqdar. Toh ho jaaye tayyar banne India ki pehli MasterChef jodi. MasterChef India – Shudh Desi Jodi.”

The Previous Season
Before the exciting news of the fresh season, fans enjoyed Celebrity MasterChef India which aired on Sony TV. The 2025 season featured popular faces like Tejasswi Prakash, Gaurav Khanna, Dipika Kakar, Archana Gautam, Nikki Tamboli and comedian Chandan Prabhakar. They were joined by singer Abhijeet Sawant, model Faisal Shaikh (Mr. Faisu) and YouTuber Kabita Singh.

Hosted by filmmaker Farah Khan and judged by celebrated chefs Vikas Khanna and Ranveer Brar, the celebrity season aired from January to April. The show’s finale saw actor Gaurav Khanna taking home the winner’s trophy, proving his mettle not just on-screen but in the kitchen too.

Now, with MasterChef India’s upcoming season, expectations are high once again. Fans are eager to see how things unfold in the duo-based format and whether it will add to the fresh, desi flavour to India’s most loved culinary show.
