Legendary Bollywood actor Dharmendra, one of Indian cinema’s most celebrated and influential stars, died at the age of 89. His passing marks the end of an era for Hindi cinema, leaving fans and the film
fraternity in deep mourning.
Dharmendra’s last rites were performed at the Pawan Hans crematorium in Mumbai, where numerous well-known actors, filmmakers and colleagues assembled to pay their final respects.

Following the cremation, many leading figures from the entertainment industry arrived at the Deol home to express their condolences to the grieving family. Several celebrities also shared emotional tributes online, remembering Dharmendra for his kindness, humility and unforgettable contribution to Indian cinema. Among them was Shehnaaz Gill, who posted a heartfelt tribute on social media.
Shehnaaz Gill shared a picture of the late actor and wrote, “Your loss seems so personal. Today our industry lost it’s gem The legendary .. Dharam sir. Om Shanti.”
Amitabh Bachchan Pens an Emotional Farewell Note
Many of Dharmendra’s closest friends in the industry expressed grief over the loss. Amitabh Bachchan, who shared a strong bond with him, posted a deeply moving message on his social media platforms.

Bachchan further added that although the film industry continually evolves, Dharmendra’s warmth, charm and humility remain timeless qualities that made him beloved by all.
Shah Rukh Khan Remembers Dharmendra as a Father Figure
Shah Rukh Khan also took to X (formerly Twitter) to mourn the loss, expressing his deep personal affection for Dharmendra.

Dharmendra’s Final Days Under Medical Supervision
In the months leading up to his death, Dharmendra had been undergoing medical treatment at home after being discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. He was admitted due to a prolonged illness and although doctors visited him daily and noted brief signs of improvement, his health gradually declined. Despite continuous medical attention, he ultimately succumbed to his long-standing ailment.
