Bollywood actor Siddhant Chaturvedi has some interesting projects in the pipeline, including the highly anticipated biopic of legendary Indian filmmaker V. Shantaram. Much to his fans’ delight, the makers
of the biographical drama have finally unveiled Siddhant’s first look from the film! The announcement poster introduces the actor in the titular role of V. Shantaram, one of India’s most influential filmmakers. The film has been written and directed by Abhijeet Shirish Deshpande, and produced by Rahul Kiran Shantaram, Subhash Kale and Sarita Ashwin Varde.

Yesterday, Siddhant Chaturvedi teased an exciting update, and wrote on his Instagram story: “Tomorrow. 11:11 AM, The most defining moment of my journey so far.” Now, on Sunday, he has finally shared the intriguing announcement poster of V. Shantaram, that shows him portraying the filmmaker. In the poster, Siddhant Chaturvedi dons a simple white kurta with a beige jacket and white dhoti, paired with a Gandhi-style cap, making him look very similar to the legendary V. Shantaram. The makers shared the poster, and wrote, “The Rebel Who Redefined Indian Cinema Is Back Where He Belongs — On the Big Screen.” Check it out below!

Soon after the poster was unveiled, fans praised Siddhant Chaturvedi’s look. “Siddhanth Bhai Aap boht Gajab lag Rahe ho,” wrote one fan, while another one commented, “Best wishes for this Sid bhai! I just know you’ll kill it. Love how you are exploring different genres..” As per reports, Fardeen Khan also plays a key role in the film.
V. Shantaram is remembered for directing some of India’s most celebrated films, including Do Aankhen Barah Haath, Jhanak Jhanak Payal Baaje, and Navrang. He received India’s highest film honor the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1985.
Shantaram, widely remembered as Annasaheb, was married three times—to Vimla, actress Jayashree, with whom he had two children, and later to Sandhya—and had seven children in total. He passed away in Mumbai on October 30, 1990.

Meanwhile, Siddhant Chaturvedi said that portraying V Shantaram is one of the greatest honors of his life. Variety quoted him saying, “The more I read about his journey, the more humbled I felt. He wasn’t just a pioneer of Indian and global cinema, he was a visionary who kept pushing forward no matter the obstacles. Stepping into his world has been my most transformative experience as an actor. His life moved me deeply and reminded me of the power of perseverance. It’s a lesson I hope to hold close, both in my work and in every moment of my life.”
