Lucknow, May 1 (PTI) The state capital on Friday recorded a maximum temperature of 33.3 degrees Celsius, 6.1 degrees below normal, and a low of 21.3 degrees Celsius, the meteorological department said in a statement.
Orai was the hottest place in the state, where mercury rose to 41.6 degrees Celsius, followed by Jhansi (39.6 degrees Celsius) and Banda (39.2 degrees Celsius).
Rainfall was recorded in Gorakhpur (3.3 mm) and Lakhimpur Kheri (2.0 mm).
The forecast for Lucknow and neighbourhood is mainly clear sky, the department said, adding that maximum and minimum temperatures will be around 37 and 22 degrees Celsius respectively.
Weather is likely to remain dry over western Uttar Pradesh, and rain with thundershowers is very likely at isolated places
over eastern Uttar Pradesh, the meteorological department said. PTI NAV PRK
