Jaipur, Jun 25 (PTI) Conditions are becoming favourable for further advancement and intensification of the southwest monsoon over parts of eastern and central India in the next five to seven days, a MeT department official said Thursday.
The weather office stated that thunderstorm activity accompanied by lightning and gusty winds reaching speeds of 50-60 kmph is likely at isolated places across the state over the next four to five days.
Light to moderate rainfall is also expected during this period, it said.
In the weather forecast from June 26 to July 9, rainfall activity during the week is likely to remain below normal in both the western and eastern parts of Rajasthan.
In the second week, rainfall activity is expected to increase in some parts
of eastern Rajasthan; however, overall precipitation across the state is still likely to remain below normal, the department added.
Jaipur recorded 16.4 mm and Kota 4.4 mm rainfall today.
Phalodi was recorded as the hottest area with 41.4 degrees, followed by 40.8 degrees in Jaisalmer. State capital Jaipur recorded 37 degrees today.
In the last 24 hours ending 8.30 am today, light to moderate rainfall was recorded in parts of Rajasthan.
Lunkaransar in Bikaner recorded 12.5 mm of rain. Jaipur recorded 1.2 mm of rain, 0.6 mm in Sriganganagar and 0.4 mm in Bikaner. PTI AG MPL MPL
