Chandigarh, Sep 13 (PTI) Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Badal on Sunday constituted a nine-member manifesto committee for the 2027 Punjab Assembly elections.
The committee will be headed by senior party leader Balwinder Singh Bhundar as chairman, while Dr Daljit Singh Cheema will serve as member secretary, according to a party statement.
The other members are Gulzar Singh Ranike, Heera Singh Gabhria, Mahesh Inder Singh Grewal, Bikram Singh Majithia, Sikandar Singh Maluka, Sohan Singh Thandal and Harcharan Singh Bains.
Presidents of the party’s various wings — including youth, women, trade and industry, legal and employees — will be special invitees to the committee.
The committee will travel across Punjab and engage extensively with farmers,
workers, traders, industrialists, youth, women, employees and other sections of society to understand their aspirations, concerns and priorities, the party said.
Their views and suggestions will form an important basis for shaping the SAD’s election manifesto for 2027, ensuring that it reflects the voice and aspirations of the people of Punjab, according to the statement. PTI CHS PRK
