The first Monday is often seen as the real test for any Bollywood release, and Pati Patni Aur Woh Do appears to have hit a rough patch after a decent weekend run. The romantic comedy, led by Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, witnessed a noticeable slowdown in collections on Day 4 amid stiff competition at the box office.
Also starring Wamiqa Gabbi and Rakul Preet Singh, the film released in theatres on May 15 alongside Karuppu starring Suriya and Aakhri Sawal featuring Sanjay Dutt. While the comedy-drama managed to show some improvement over the weekend after opening on a modest note, the momentum did not continue into Monday.

According to trade tracker Sacnilk, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do collected Rs 3.25 crore on its fourth day in cinemas across 5,563 shows nationwide. The figure marks a sharp 58.1 per cent decline from its Sunday earnings of Rs 7.75 crore.
The film had opened with Rs 4 crore on Friday. Despite weekend growth, the Monday drop has raised concerns among trade experts, especially considering the film’s reported production budget.
Reports suggest that Pati Patni Aur Woh Do has been mounted on an estimated budget of around Rs 60-65 crore, although the makers are yet to officially confirm the numbers. Given the scale and cast, the current box office trend is being viewed as underwhelming in industry circles.
Meanwhile, audience reactions and reviews for the film have been mixed. CNN-News18 Showsha rated the film 3.5 stars and noted in its review, “At 1 hour and 57 minutes, Pati Patni Aur Woh Do is a like a ride at a local fare – nothing too snazzy and expensive but still fun, for the most part. And then there are the histrionics. This is a film that thrives on excess – excess pandemonium, excess coincidences, excess screaming, excess melodrama and, at times, excess confidence in its own absurdity.”
Despite the dip, the coming days will be crucial for the film as it attempts to hold steady at the ticket counters through the week.
