Rupali Ganguly and her businessman husband Ashwin K Verma are gearing up to celebrate Karwa Chauth 2025, a celebration that the couple looks forward to each year. While the occasion comes with a set of rituals, it is also a special time for the actress as she is quite pampered by her family. In the latest interview, Rupali Ganguly shared how she celebrates the day and a few memories she will cherish forever.
In conversation with Hindustan Times, Rupali Ganguly said, “I’ve seen how my in-laws enjoyed celebrating Karwa Chauth and it’s a legacy I want to continue. I’ve been shooting for the past five years but the team lets me go home early so I can break my fast. I’ve been to Karwa Chauth parties, but it’s a special moment shared by the husband
and wife, best celebrated at home. My son Rudransh holds the thali, so he’s also part of the celebrations. It’s a beautiful ritual right from the sargi, to baya, katha and dressing up in red attire.” This year, her co-star handed her a lovely crimson sari, which she will wear on Karwa Chauth.
Rupali Ganguly’s First Karwa Chauth Memory
She recalled her first Karwa Chauth when father-in-law assisted and sent her a lot of food as per the ritual. Speaking about the strict fast, she said, “There’s nothing regressive about it, it’s lovely, and no one forces you to do it; it’s something we choose to observe.”
Her favourite aspect of the festival is the pampering she gets at home. Her husband Ashwin is a terrific cook who makes all of her favourite Karwa Chauth dishes. While fasting during shots can be challenging, the actress noted that many women work while fasting, while homemakers handle domestic tasks. She does not feel like she is doing anything extraordinary, but it sometimes gets a little stressful.
