The Isha Foundation will organise nearly 1,000 yoga and meditation sessions across the country on Sunday to mark International Day of Yoga. It is estimated that about 50,000 people from corporates, education, medical, government, defence institutions and community spaces will take part in the sessions.
The initiative aims to introduce participants to yoga as a holistic practice for physical, mental and emotional wellbeing. The sessions, facilitated by trained volunteers and teachers from Isha Foundation, will focus on simple yogic practices that can be incorporated into daily routines to improve health and quality of life.
Speaking about the significance of yoga, Sadhguru said, “Yoga is not just an exercise. It is a process and system through
which human beings can find their highest possible potential.”
‘Miracle of Mind’ App To Add Six New Languages
Participants will also be introduced to ‘Miracle of Mind’, Sadhguru’s free seven-minute guided meditation available through a dedicated mobile application. According to the Foundation, the app has more than 3.5 million active users worldwide and is currently offered in six languages. On the occasion of International Day of Yoga, six additional languages — Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Bangla, Italian and Nepali — will be added to expand accessibility.
Special celebrations are also planned at Isha centres. At Sadhguru Sannidhi in Bengaluru, more than 2,300 people, including NCC cadets, Border Security Force personnel, students and villagers, are expected to participate in sessions held in the presence of Adiyogi. At the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore, over 700 participants, including students from the Young Indians Coimbatore Chapter and personnel from the Central Reserve Police Force, will take part in yoga and meditation programmes.
Isha Foundation said that more than seven lakh visitors benefited from free yoga and meditation sessions conducted at the Coimbatore centre over the past year, reflecting growing interest in such practices.
