Lucknow Super Giants skipper Rishabh Pant was in full flow on Sunday, April 19, as he smacked a 23-ball 43 against Punjab Kings in a mammoth 255-run chase at the New Chandigarh Stadium in Mullanpur. Pant smashed Marco Jansen for two monstrous sixes off successive balls while chasing a huge target.
The big hits came in the seventh over of Lucknow Super Giants’ innings, as Pant made an immediate impact. Facing just his second ball, he capitalised on a fuller delivery in the slot and launched it over wide long-on for a 79-metre six.
The strike came even against Jansen’s 141.8 kmph ball, which Pant managed to put away with ease. He then stepped out to a slower delivery and sent it soaring over the sightscreen for an 89-metre six.

Pant (43 off 23 balls) and Mitchell Marsh (40 off 28 balls) showed intent, but both their approach and execution fell short in comparison to the six-hitting display put on by Priyansh Arya and Cooper Connolly.
Vyshak Vijaykumar (1/30 in 4 overs) was brilliant with his pace-on and pace-off variations that stopped both Marsh and Pant in their tracks.
Once both were gone, wrapping up the game was a mere formality for Shreyas Iyer’s men, itching to go one better than their previous runners-up finish in 2025.
When Punjab Kings batted, their Powerplay effort of 63/1 was solid, but they were even more brilliant in the middle phase between overs seven and 11, during which they added 66 runs.
Priyansh, the beefy southpaw, just stood and delivered with minimal footwork and maximum bat speed as balls flew thick and fast.
