Shreyas Iyer is leading India in the fourth T20I against England at the County Ground in Bristol on Thursday (July 9). The right-handed batter played an unbeaten knock of 80 runs from 49 balls as a No. 4 batter and scored four fours and five sixes. Iyer, who replaced Suryakumar Yadav as India’s T20I captain on June 6, 2026, took 33 deliveries to bring up his half-century.

The fifty in Bristol is Iyer’s second 50-plus score of the ongoing series. He had also scored a half-century in the rain-affected series opener at the Riverside Ground in Chester-le-Street.

Iyer now also tops the list of players with the most runs for India in a T20I series played in England.
The knock of 80 runs from 49 balls by Iyer in the must-win match for India extended his tally of runs to 190 in the ongoing five-match series.
The previous record for scoring the most runs for India in a T20I series in England was in the name of Suryakumar Yadav. Yadav played three matches for the Indian team in the 2022 series against England and scored 171 runs in England.
Iyer now also holds the record for scoring most runs in a bilateral T20I series in England. He went past South African batter Reeza Hendricks’s tally of 180 runs.
