New Delhi, Jul 8 (PTI) A stray bull attacked several residents, including women and an elderly man, in Delhi’s Rohini over the past few days before being captured by civic authorities on Wednesday.
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) said the bull, which was roaming in Jain Nagar under the Narela zone, has been caught and shifted to an isolation facility, where it will be kept under observation because of its unusually aggressive behaviour.
“The bull has been kept in isolation because of its aggressive behaviour. It is suspected that it has rabies, but we will observe the bull,” an MCD official said.
Multiple CCTV clips and videos that surfaced on social media over the last two days show the bull charging at pedestrians without warning.
In
one video dated July 7, an elderly man was seen walking along a road in the evening when a pickup vehicle passed by. Moments later, the bull suddenly charged at him, tossing him into the air before he fell onto the road.
Another CCTV footage dated July 6 shows the animal emerging from the side of a road and charging at two women walking past. The women were knocked to the ground, following which the bull repeatedly gored them with its horns before moving away.
A separate CCTV clip also purportedly shows the bull charging at a woman and repeatedly attacking her with its horns after she falls.
Locals also claimed that the bull had killed two horses in the same locality.
However, MCD officials said they could not confirm the claim, noting that horses are powerful animals and capable of defending themselves against a bull. PTI MSJ MSJ MDO MDO
