Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s X account was hacked on Sunday. The hackers also posted the images of the Pakistan and Turkey flags from his social media handle.
“We immediately alerted the cybercrime police. Our team that is in charge of the Dy CM’s X handle later retrieved the account,” reported PTI, citing an official.
The posts were deleted shortly after the intrusion came to notice. It took nearly 30 to 40 minutes to resolve the issue.
The incident comes on the same day when India is set to play against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.
The hacking incident raises serious cybersecurity concerns.
The technical team acted promptly, removing all the posts and retrieving the account.
Earlier in May 2024, the X account handle of the Assam
Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC). The account’s name was changed to “Tesla Event” and the profile picture to Tesla’s logo.
