An elderly RTC bus driver in Telangana was assaulted inside his bus following a brief traffic altercation on a narrow road on Wednesday, November 19. The incident occurred when a car owner confronted the
driver shortly after their vehicles passed each other.
According to a report in Siasat, the assault took place in Vallampatla village of Rajanna Sircilla district. The TGSRTC bus was travelling from Ellanthakunta to Sircilla when its driver, K Balaraju, could not make space for a car approaching from the opposite side on the narrow road. Police said the road was too narrow for both vehicles to pass comfortably which led to a tense exchange soon after.

Authorities identified the car owner as Pitla Sreekanth. After both vehicles crossed each other, Siasat reported that Sreekanth stopped his car, approached the bus and climbed inside. Police stated, “After passing, the car driver stopped the bus, entered the vehicle and started kicking driver K Balaraju in front of his passengers.”
A disturbing video, shared on X (formerly Twitter), showed Sreekanth punching Balaraju on his back and kicking him while he remained seated at the steering wheel. Passengers were heard raising their voices in shock. The clip was reportedly recorded by the female bus conductor.
The conductor confronted him, demanding, “If you are not given a pass, you will dare assault us?” A young boy, believed to be a relative of Sreekanth, tried to restrain him during the attack.

Peak entitlement.!!
People React Sharply To The Assault Inside The Bus
The assault led to strong criticism from online users who called out the behaviour and demanded strict action.
One user commented, “Shameful behaviour!! Assaulting an elderly bus driver just because your ego couldn’t handle a few seconds delay. Road rage is not an ‘Attitude’ – it’s a crime. Glad a case has been filed. Strict action is the only language such people understand.”
Another user said, “What nonsense is this? Uncivilised behaviour.”
“I’m so happy that passengers stepped in to support the driver,” someone else wrote.
A person demanded harsher steps, saying, “Strip his driving licence. Seize his vehicle and give him a simple imprisonment of 15 days. He has attacked a public transport driver carrying quite a number of people.”
Police Action
Police confirmed that Sreekanth was arrested and sent to remand for assaulting the RTC driver. Telangana Police later shared his image in custody on X, saying, “Police arrested Pitla Sreekanth, who attacked an RTC driver in Rajanna Sircilla district, and sent him to remand.”
