Govinda’s wife, Sunita Ahuja, often grabs the headlines because of her revelations about the actor. Now, in a chat with Paras Chhabra, Sunita revealed that Govinda has surrounded himself with pandits and yes-men
who make a fool out of him. She said that Govinda’s yes-men talk ill about her to him. She also revealed that while he easily spends lakhs on pujas, he won’t give her any money to build an animal shelter.
Sunita Ahuja said, “We also have one in our house, Govinda’s pandit. He is also like this only – get pujas done, give Rs 2 lakhs. I tell him that you should pray on your own, unka karaaya hua puja paath kuch kaam nahi aane wala hai. God will accept the prayers that you do on your own. I don’t believe in all this. Even if I donate or do any good deed, I do it with my own hands for my karma. Darne wala darr jaata hai.”
“Now Chichi has to lose weight and look good. His skin has gone bad. He should take care of himself, that’s my wish. He recently said that I am making three films, but I feel that the problem is he doesn’t get a good team. The circle that he sits in has fool writers that are less of writers and more fools,” Sunita opined.
She explained, “They make him a fool and give terrible advice. He doesn’t get good people, and they don’t like me because I say the truth. Mere baare mein sab uske kaan bharte rehte hain, and he believes everyone. I want to tell them that if you want to say something, say it on my face, not to him.”
“It’s my heart’s wish that I want to make an old age home and some shelter for animals. I will make sure to do that with my own money. I will not take even a single rupee from Govinda because he won’t give money to me, but only his chamchas (bootlickers),” Sunita Ahuja concluded.
Govinda and Sunita Ahuja got married in 1987. They have two kids- son Yashvardhan and daughter Tina Ahuja. The couple is often subjected to divorce rumours, which they eventually shut down.
