Manchester’s iconic Old Trafford Stadium will host the second T20I of the ongoing five-match series between India and England on Saturday (July 4). After the series opener was washed out due to rain in Chester-le-Street on Wednesday (July 1), both teams will be eager to win the second match and take a 1-0 lead in the series. England have already announced their playing XI for the second T20I, and it will be interesting to see if the Indian team management considers including 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi in the playing XI.
Vaibhav, who won the Orange Cap as well as the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award in IPL 2026, has warmed the bench for India in three back-to-back matches, and his exclusion from the playing XI has raised a lot of question
marks.
The second T20I between India and England is expected to be a high-scoring one as the Old Trafford wicket offers good conditions for batting, and players from both teams would like to make the most of the batting-friendly conditions.
India have played multiple matches across formats at Old Trafford, and Shreyas Iyer will be eager to win his first-ever international match as India captain at this venue on Saturday.
