Veteran actor Dharmendra passed away on November 24, 2025, and his demise has left a void in the industry. Being in the business for over six decades, the legendary star touched many lives, and one such
soul is ace choreographer and filmmaker Ahmed Khan. Ahmed worked with Dharmendra in the film Yamla Pagla Deewana 2 and shares a very close bond with his son, Sunny Deol, too. After the demise of the legendary star, Ahmed, while speaking exclusively to CNN-News18 Showsha, recalled how he used to chat with Dharmendra whenever he visited him at his bungalow.
Sharing his cherished memories withthe He-Man of Bollywood, Ahmed recalled, “It’s a loss that I can’t express because, first of all, I had a personal relationship with him that everyone knows about. But I think each and every one of us had a relationship with him because we have seen him since we were born. Even till date, the videos he used to put out motivated people to exercise, no matter what your age is. He was so loving.”
“Whenever I used to go to his bungalow, he would sit with me and hold my face, my entire face would fit in his palms, and he would kiss me so much and love me so much. I am the only man who has made all three Deols dance, and he used to say, ‘Only Ahmed can make all the Deols dance,’” Ahmed continued.
Recalling a sweet incident, Ahmed shared how Dharmendra made sure that he choreographed his grandson’s sangeet and said, “When Sunny Deol’s son Karan got married, Dharam ji made it a point that I do the sangeet. So I did it, and I was the only person there who made the entire family dance. He used to say that it is only Ahmed in this entire industry who can make the Deols dance. That was our relationship.”
Losing Dharmendra is a personal loss to many, and for Ahmed, “it felt like losing a father figure.” Ahmed was among the many who reached the Deols’ house after the veteran actor’s demise. Sharing the feeling, he said, “When I was with Sunny three days ago at the bungalow, it felt like the sarparast insaan (guardian), the head of the family, was not there, yaar. We were completely broken.”
