New Delhi, Sep 19 (PTI) Filmmaker Kunal Kemmu’s film “Vibe” has earned Rs 2.25 crore on the opening day at the domestic box office.
The film features Kemmu alongside Preity Zinta, Sparsh Shrivastava, and Vanshika Dhir, among others.
The collection has surpassed the numbers of Kemmu’s previous directorial “Madgaon Express”, which stood at Rs 1.50 crore to Rs 1.63 crore at the domestic box office, according to a press release.
The film, which released on Friday, follows Kemmu and Shrivastava’s characters, who find themselves caught up in a high-stakes mission despite having no training or experience as spies.
The film is produced by Kunal Kemmu and Chirag Nihalani under the banner of Drongo Films in association with Amazon MGM Studios.
It also serves
as the second directorial for actor Kemmu after “Madgaon Express”, which earned over Rs 50 crore at the global box office. The film featured the actor alongside Divyenndu and Pratik Gandhi.
It revolves around childhood friends who set out on a wild, disaster-filled trip to Goa.
Kemmu will next feature in the comedy film “Golmaal 5” alongside Ajay Devgn, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, and Akshay Kumar. The film is the fifth installment in the “Golmaal” franchise. PTI ATR ATR ATR
