LeBron James isn’t ready to call time just yet.
The NBA’s all-time leading scorer has agreed to join the Philadelphia 76ers in one of the biggest free agency moves in recent memory.

Klutch Sports Group confirmed the signing on Friday, while ESPN reported the 41-year-old has agreed to a two-year, $8 million contract.
The move brings an end to James’ eight-season spell with the Los Angeles Lakers after he informed the franchise through agent Rich Paul that he would enter free agency.
Championship Chase continues
James has now represented four NBA franchises during his remarkable career — the Cleveland
Cavaliers, Miami Heat, Los Angeles Lakers and now Philadelphia.
For years, many believed his career would end with an emotional third stint in Cleveland, where he famously delivered the Cavaliers’ first-ever NBA championship in 2016 by leading the franchise to an unforgettable comeback victory over the Golden State Warriors.
That fairy-tale reunion hasn’t happened — at least not yet.
Instead, James is heading to a Philadelphia team that believes it has the pieces to compete for another title immediately.
A Star-Studded Supporting Cast
The Sixers strengthened their championship ambitions earlier this month by pulling off a blockbuster trade for 2024 NBA Finals MVP Jaylen Brown from the Boston Celtics.
James now joins a roster featuring Brown, former league MVP Joel Embiid, All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey and highly-rated rookie VJ Edgecombe.
There are already strong connections throughout the group. James won Olympic gold alongside Embiid in Paris in 2024, while Maxey is also represented by Rich Paul and Klutch Sports.
