Royal Challengers Bengaluru chased down the target of 144 runs in just 12.1 overs on Monday (January 12) to secure a big win by 9 wickets over UP Warriorz in match No. 5 of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 played at Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Navi Mumbai. RCB skipper Smriti Mandhana won the toss and opted to bat first, after which they managed to restrict the UPW to just 143/5 in their quota of 20 overs. The Meg Lanning-led side was struggling at 50/5 in 8.2 overs before Deepti Sharma (45*) and Deandra Dottin (40*) added an unbeaten 93 runs for the sixth wicket to help them post a decent total on the board.
But the target of 144 runs didn’t prove too much for the Bengaluru-based franchise, who rode on Grace Harris’s 85-run knock from
40 balls and Mandhana’s unbeaten 47 from 32 balls to seal the deal.
The win on Monday is RCB’s second straight win in WPL 2026, and with a total of four points and a net run rate of +1.964, they now top the WPL 2026 points table.
On the other hand, after losing their second WPL 2026 match in a row, UP Warriorz have now dropped to the last position. They have 0 points, and their net run rate is -2.443.
