An ordinary cab ride turned into a frightening experience for a passenger who claimed that their driver nearly collided with a bus. The person alleged misbehaviour by the driver, saying that he hurled abuses when confronted about his rash driving.
Sharing their ordeal on X, the passenger tagged Uber, Uber India and Uber Support and described the ride as “pathetic”. In the post, the passenger alleged that the driver drove recklessly during the journey and, at one point, came dangerously close to colliding with a bus. They also urged the ride-hailing company to take action against the driver before someone gets seriously hurt.
“Stop Him Before He Actually Kills Someone” “Dear @Uber @Uber_India @UberIN_Support had a pathetic experience with a ride
today,” the passenger wrote. “Not only was this guy a pathetically rash driver, he almost collided with a bus and terminated my life today.”
The situation worsened when the passenger questioned the driver about his manner of driving. “And when questioned, he started raining the choicest abuses on me. Including stuff like Ben Stokes and the Ben Stokes mother version,” the passenger alleged.
Feeling uncomfortable and unsafe, the passenger said they asked the driver to stop the cab immediately. So I asked him to stop immediately, even though my destination was a km away. After I made the payment, while leaving, he again gave a parting abuse shot,” the person said. “Stop him before he actually kills someone.”
Besides sharing their ordeal, the passenger disclosed details of the Uber ride and the driver’s name. The individual booked the cab on the night of September 12 for a distance of 5.9 kilometres in Mumbai.
Uber Replies To The Passenger
The passenger’s post soon caught the attention of Uber, who replied, “Sorry to hear about the hassle. This is certainly not the experience we’d like you to have. If you want us to review a specific trip, please share your contact details used to request the ride via Direct Message. We’ll follow up.”
The customer responded to the comment, writing, “Have raised it in your app via customer support. Please take care and stop this guy before he injures someone else.”
“Uber Is The Worst These Days”
The post also drew attention from social media users, who questioned Uber over passenger safety and driver behaviour during rides. Some also shared that they have stopped booking cabs after a series of unpleasant experiences.
An individual wrote, “At this rate, even in Uber one will have to wear a HELMET just to be safe.”
“Uber is the worst these days, and all their cars are super dirty!” commented a user.

Someone else shared, “I always cancel the ride if the rating is below 4.9/5.0. As a customer, that’s the only thing we can do to protect ourselves in a country where one has to constantly deal with subalterns. From a customer’s perspective, we need to weed such drivers out through low ratings.”
Meanwhile, a different person said, “I stopped taking cabs in India when I am visiting. I take a car for rent and drive myself. A bit expensive, but it gives me lots of peace of mind. Already risking my life flying, often being an NRI, I can’t risk it on roads too; certain phobias become a reality when we age.”
